Culturally Competent Counselling
We believe that understanding a person’s cultural values, beliefs, and background can be crucial for effective therapy. All our therapists have completed training in the areas of cultural competence and strive to address issues concerning race, religion, sexuality, socioeconomic status, and gender in a client’s life experience. When you work with our counsellors who understand your cultural background it can be an incredibly empowering experience where you feel validated and heard.
Many of our counsellors are visible minorities who can relate to the struggle of navigating multiple cultural beliefs and norms. We collectively feel that it’s crucial for individuals to seek help from counsellors who work towards dismantling oppression and destigmatizing therapy. Our practice strives to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.
